For the second year, Iscariot Media has been involved with Cairns Indigenous Art Fair. Our involvement was two-fold. Vernon curated, as Dark+Disturbing, Gordon Hookey’s proppaNOW representation within the art fair. The Iscariot Media team also assisted with the administration. Gordon and Vernon arrived in Cairns four days prior to the exhibition opening and work around the clock to create a work right there straight onto the walls. There were two other works in that installation a video work and drawing by Gordon that drew on the theme of the large work. The results of course are excellent – there was a lot of local press coverage about Gordon and the work.

We also were represented in the markets in Terminal 2 on Saturday and Sunday. Two very long days (bump-in was at 5am on Saturday morning), but we caught up with a lot of family and old friends. We’re looking forward to doing CIAF again next year.
